Our Economy Design service is intended for straightforward residential projects where the layout and overall design are already well defined.
This service focuses on producing a clean, permit-ready set of drawings efficiently, without the extended design process of our higher service levels.
It is best suited for simple, single-story homes where the priority is a practical and cost-conscious path to construction.
This service is designed for clients who already have a completed floor plan and are ready to move directly into drafting.
If you don’t yet have a finalized plan, we recommend starting with our ready-to-build house plans. In many cases, purchasing a pre-designed plan is a more efficient and cost-effective option than starting from scratch.
Economy Design is intentionally structured as a fixed process. The plans are drawn directly from the information you provide, without iterative design revisions or back-and-forth adjustments.
Because of this, it’s important that your layout and specifications are fully resolved before beginning.
If you’re looking for flexibility, design input, or the ability to refine your layout throughout the process, we recommend our Semi-Custom or Custom Design services.
Once the architectural plans are approved, we coordinate with a structural engineer to complete the required engineering package.
For efficiency, Economy Design projects utilize our preferred engineer. Engineering costs are not included in our design fee, but for typical homes within this service level, they are generally around $0.30 per square foot.
The engineering package includes structural specifications, framing details, fastening requirements, and other components necessary for permitting and construction.
Once engineering is complete, you will receive a digital PDF plan set for your records and for use in permitting and construction.
